Breast Augmentation Procedure

by Surgeon on May 16, 2012

the types of breast augmentation procedures is Depending on patient’s anatomy , breast condition and other factors, the implant is inserted through one of four main incision site; Transaxillary (through the armpit), inframammary (in the breast folds), periareolar (around niple) or transubilical (through the navel).

The incision is made to access the breast tissue and a pocket is then created to accommodate the breast implant, As with the incision site, there are options for location of this pocket in relation to the pectoral muscle and other structural parts of the breast. After making the incision, the surgeon cuts a channel through the tissue to final location of the implant. Having created the path , the surgeon then separates tissue and/or muscle to make the implant pocket. In deciding location of the pocket, the surgeon must predict how the breast will look once the implants have been inserted. in more complex breast augmentation procedure, repositioning the nipple and areola and creating new crease under the breast may be involved.

Surgeon should provide of all the relevant during consultation before going ahead with surgery. The patients considering breast augmentation has a number of choices to discuss with her surgeon, including the location of the incision. The type of breast implant and where it will be located.

Prior the procedure decisions will be made about size and type of implant, depending on patient’s anatomy, body size, chest measurements and desired final result after breast augmentation. Almost all patients who request a breast augmentation desire some degree of cleavage.

What is Breast Augmentation?

by Surgeon on May 8, 2012

Breast Augmentation is a surgical procedure that increases the volume of the breasts through the surgical placement of a saline or silicon gel-filled implant in each breast to push the tissue forward.

You will be anaesthetised , either with general anaesthetic or twilight sedation, and your chest area will be cleaned and marked up with guidelines by the surgeon. Then the surgeon make an incision that enables them to lift the breast tissue to create a pocket above or below the pectoral muscle for the implant.
